Radiant Floor Installation

Under or Between Wood Joists

Method 1: Using Straight Edge Material
1. Unroll and staple Low-E Standard Edge under the floor joists.

2. Seal the joints and outer edges with Foil Tape.

Method 2: Using Tab Material
1. Install the insulation between the floor joists. Allow 4" x 6" below the heating coils or as
recommended by the manufacturer.

2. Staple per installation instructions.

3. Seal ends using Foil Tape.

In a Concrete Floor

1. Unroll Slab-Shield over the gravel or sand.

2. Butt the seams.

3. Seal the seams using Foil Tape.

4. Install radiant heat system and then pour the concrete as usual.

Over Wood Floor

1. Unroll Slab-Shield over the wood floor with material flush with the walls.

2. Butt the seams.

3. Seal the seams using Foil Tape.

4. Install radiant heat system per manufactures' instructions.
